The Brexit Withdrawal Agreement, officially titled the UK`s withdrawal agreement from Britain and Northern Ireland from the European Union and the European Atomic Energy Community. is a treaty signed on 24 January 2020 between the European Union (EU), Euratom and the United Kingdom (UK)  which sets the conditions for the UK`s withdrawal from the EU and Euratom. The text of the treaty was published on 17 October 2019 and is a renegotiated version of an agreement published six months earlier. The previous version of the withdrawal agreement was rejected three times by the House of Commons, leading Queen Elizabeth II to accept Theresa May`s resignation as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and appoint Boris Johnson as the new Prime Minister on 24 July 2019. the day after the end of the article 50 period, paragraph 3, of the EU Treaty, extended by the European Council in agreement with the United Kingdom, provided that the custodian of this agreement has received before that date the written communications of the Union and the United Kingdom on the completion of the necessary internal procedures; CONSIDERING: that the UK and the EU must take all necessary measures to start as soon as possible, from the effective date of this agreement, formal negotiations on one or more agreements on their future relations, so that these agreements apply, as far as possible, from the end of the transition period, immediately after the announcement of a revised withdrawal agreement on 17 October 2019, Labour, the Liberal Democrats and the PIP have stated that they will not be able to support the new agreement.  In particular, this protocol does not prevent the United Kingdom from entering into agreements with a third country that grant preferential access to that country`s market on the same terms as products manufactured in other parts of the United Kingdom. The EU air transport law, which was not applicable at Gibraltar Airport before the withdrawal agreement came into force, applies to Gibraltar Airport only from the date set by the Joint Committee. The Joint Committee takes the decision on this matter after the United Kingdom and Spain have indicated that they have reached a satisfactory agreement on the use of Gibraltar Airport. This triggered Article 50 of the Treaty on the European Union, which defines the procedure for the withdrawal of an EU member state, thus opening a two-year countdown to withdrawal. Exchange of letters of January 18 and March 14, 1977 relating to Section 36, paragraph 3, Regulation (EEC) 1408/71 (agreement on reimbursement or waiver of reimbursement of in-kind costs covered by Title III, Chapter 1, Regulation (EEC) 1408/71, as amended by the exchange of letters of May 4, 1973 and 23. On 17 October 2019, the UK and the EU approved a revised agreement to withdraw the UK from Britain and Northern Ireland from the European Union and the European Atomic Energy Union. , as approved by heads of state or government at an extraordinary European Council, a legally binding document containing provisions on the “divorce regime” between the EU and the UK and on the transition period (agreements).
